I have to say one important thing about Cheryl: she rocks! It didn’t take any convincing to get Cheryl outside under her umbrella for some portraits even though it was a balmy 30 degrees with light rain. Cheryl and Zack celebrated their wedding this past weekend at Red Top Mountain State Park and even though no one expects perfect weather in January, the rain and snow storm were a bit more than we bargained for. Though the conditions prevented many of their out-of-town guests from making it, Cheryl and Zack were full of love and laughter despite the weather. Since Cheryl and Zack decided to go for a ‘first look’ we were able to take advantage of the beautiful (if rainy) conditions around the cabin they had rented. Cheryl, who has the most lovely laugh, looked beautiful with her gorgeous red curls. She didn’t even let the mud on the bottom of her dress stop her from smiling all the way down the aisle. It was a wonderful, initmate wedding and I am so glad that I was able to be a part of their day. Congratulations Cheryl & Zack!
It seems like I have shot a million My Style images for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in the last few months and have managed to put none of them on the blog. So I thought I would show my favorites from the last 10 or so assignments. As always I love shooting this weekly section and getting to meet a ton of lovely and fashionable Atlantans.
I’ve got a bit of a backlog of images here, so I am excited to finally get these images up of wonderful little Shepard and his parents. This is our second time at Mill Creek Park in Alpharetta. Shepard had grown so much since I’d last seen him and it was so much fun to see him again. Though he was a lot less interested in posing for pictures with his mom and dad, we were able to get him at his best playing with leaves and sticks!
I am really lucky to have friends that don’t think I am crazy when I ask them to play “dress up”. The lovely Stacy obliged my request to don some wedding garb and be dragged around downtown Atlanta shooting portraits. I had been eyeing several spots that I thought would make for some great shots and was so glad that Stacy was up to the task of being my model. It was a gorgeous day and I am so happy with the results!
I had the great pleasure of photographing Kurt and Amanda’s wedding up in Manassas, VA last weekend. Not only was this a day of celebration for their marriage, but more importantly the joining together of a new family. Amanda’s eight-year-old daughter Madison was a very excited member of the bridal party (and definitely the star of the reception)! Kurt and Amanda included Madison in every portion of the day–from a special gift giving during the ceremony to a surprise dance for Kurt and Madison.
We were fortunate to have great weather and since Kurt and Amanda decided to see each other before the wedding, we had time to do some great shots in downtown Manassas. (I love, love, love when couples opt to see each other before the ceremony. You have the chance for more time together and there is no waiting around after the ceremony!)
Kurt, Amanda and Madison–I am so happy that the three of you have come together as family and I am honored that I was there to photograph your day!
Alison you are amazingly talented! Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us. We love you and are so very pleased! You are a true professional and we could not have asked for more!
Love,
Amanda, Kurt, and Madison : )
