I photographed the lovely Lindsey Mosby for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s My Style section recently. Lindsey has the most beautiful log cabin home right across from Serenbe. Her husband is a fantastic artist and everything in their home is amazing. Basically this would be my dream place to live someday…lots of space to roam, a huge old barn filled with art supplies and tons of amazing antiques inside!
I love bluegrass music and I love sitting in a camp chair on a cool Fall day in the Smoky Mountains in Townsend, TN. To be lucky enough to combine these two activities at the Fall Heritage Festival this weekend was awesome. This gathering of pickers and players throughout the region has been going on for ages. It is a gathering of young and old, banjos, guitars, fiddles and bass players. I saw four-year-old cloggers out there dancing as well as those who’ve been stomping there way around for forty years. It is really a celebration of everything good about Tennessee and its old time music and good old souls.
So I put together an audio slideshow of music from the day from incredible clawhammer banjo player Daniel Rothwell (who it the youngest person ever to win the national championship for old time banjo) as well as my images from the day. The other sound you will hear of course is the stomping of feet from the cloggers. Enjoy!
One of the best things about family portraits is the opportunity to watch a little one grow! I got to do maternity portraits of his mom, then photos of him when he was born and now some new photos of baby Joe at the great old age of 10-months. And wow is he such a cutie!! They brought him over to Grant Park to take some photos and it was so great to see how much he had grown.

I recently photographed the lovely Cassandra Buckalew, who is the owner of Cassandra Buckalew Interiors as well as the fabulous Marietta Trolley Company. Cassandra and I utilized the great space all around Marietta Square for our shoot for the AJC’s My Style feature. I love shooting around the Square, because every time I am there, I discover another interesting alleyway, building or green spot that is perfect for photos. Cassandra is such a multi-talented and energized person and I am so glad I got a chance to work with her. Not only is she an amazing interior designer, but the Marietta Trolley is such a cool way to tour the area, or better yet, rent one for a wedding or private event!
I wanted to offer my congrats to Angel Ramos for being selected as Esquire’s Best Dressed Real Man in America! I photographed Angel for the AJC’s My Style this summer and you may remember some of the shots that I blogged here. First, I love this magazine and have been a faithful subscriber for years now–so to have one of my photos featured in Esquire–well it’s safe to say that I am thrilled! Second, Angel is a really great guy and definitely deserves this. Angel was selected from the nearly 2,000 men who were submitted–so really it is an awesome honor! He’s got a fantastic look and I think this shot is the perfect example. You can see the full story on Esquire’s site here.
Whoa! Awesome! Congrats on landing a photo credit in Esquire!!
