I couldn’t have asked for two nicer people to photograph on their wedding day. Brad and Kristi were completely calm, in spite of the crazy thunderstorms that were occurring an hour before their outdoor wedding. They were basically a photographer’s dream couple–happy, easygoing and so obviously in love with one another. It was a true joy to shoot their wedding!
I talked my fabulous friend Stacy into posing for some photos so that I could test out my new Mark III camera. There is this old blue Dodge pickup truck that had been parked on the street near my house for ages. The city actually towed it away a few days after we did the shoot–so it was just in the nick of time! The bright color and rust on this old truck made it a fantastic spot to photograph. I dragged Stacy out at sunset and got some great photos. Obviously she is a great subject, so it was a blast!
I recently photographed some attorneys for the 2009 edition of the Georgia Best Lawyers publication. The magazine showcases some of the best attorneys in the state who practice everything from family law to criminal defense. The cover shot was of attorney Tommy Malone, who I’ve photographed many times in the past during my time at the Daily Report. Some interior shots in the publication include the firm Doffermyre Shields in Atlanta and Thomas, Kennedy, Sampson & Tompkins in College Park.
Wednesday was a perfect night to host the second block party for the Atlanta Hawk’s playoff game against the Miami Heat. The temperature was about 70, and a lot of people came out to enjoy the pre-game festivites at Philips Arena. Fans got a chance to see the A-Team and A-Town dancers perform, as well as watch the SkySquad Dunk Team in action. Too bad the Hawks lost the game. At least the pre-party was fun!
The Atlanta Hawks held a Block Party (which turned out to be an indoor party thanks to the weather), to celebrate the 1st of a 7 game playoff series with the Miami Heat. Fans got a chance to play basketball, win prizes and watch performances by the A-Town Dancers, Skyhawk and the Atlanta Hawks Drumline. It was a great night of shooting and to top it off the Hawks had a very decisive win over the Heat.
