TIFFANY & BRAD–BACKYARD WEDDING ROSWELL, GA

I had been obsessively checking the forecast all week–knowing that Tiffany and Brad’s backyard wedding was hinging on good weather. Things weren’t looking to good and of course as I was driving up to the ceremony site of Brad’s parent’s home, it began to rain. A lot! Thankfully Tiffany was as calm as could be. I can’t say enough about her positive attitude that was just full of so much love and gratitude. She didn’t care if it was raining–she was just happy to be surrounded by the people that she loved most in the world. Seriously, this girl is amazing! As the ceremony start time approached, it became apparent that the rain was not going to let up. So all of the guests filled up the living room…sitting on couches, standing by doors and watched Tiffany and her dad make their way down the “aisle”. Everything of course worked out lovely, because Brad and Tiffany were so happy and at ease! Their obvious love for one another and their incredible families made the whole day amazing.

I have to say a couple of words about Tiffany’s grandfather. He came all the way from California to take part in the ceremony as the officiant. He has lost his vision, but absolutely none of his heart. These two share a very special bond together and hearing him tell stories made everyone laugh and of course cry. It was so obvious how grateful Tiffany was to have him there!bt_007

Tiffany is super organized and crafty. She decorated her wedding cake and made all of the bouquets!bt_008

So when the rain finally cleared later that night, everone was able to dance under the patio as planned. I love the mud on the bottom of her dress!bt_009

Tiffany’s grandfather is also quite a singer–and performed several songs for the guests!bt_010

I have to say a word about Tiffany’s little sister Evie (who was also a bridesmaid).  This girl has the most fun, outgoing personality. There was not a moment the whole night that she wasn’t rockin the dance floor! bt_011

A final dance with Brad and Tiffany to end the evening.bt_012

JULIA & DOUG

The other weekend I had the great pleasure of second shooting with my lovely photographer friend Jennifer Boxley (www.jenniferboxley.com) for the Greek wedding of Julia and Doug. The couple were married at the wonderful Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Atlanta. For those of you who have ever been to the Greek Fest there, you’ll know what a beautiful church this is. I will admit that I was a bit sad that there was no baklava at the reception (they had a traditional Greek meal for the rehearsal dinner). However, the whole day with Julia and Doug was amazing, and made up for missing out on my favorite Greek treat!

ANTONIO DAZA

The other week I got to photograph Antonio Daza for an installment of the AJC’s My Style page.  Antonio, who is only 26, has this amazing dance studio located in the Atlanta suburbs. The Daza Dance Ballroom Academy (www.dazadanceatlanta.com) is a gorgeous studio that offers tons of classes–everything from swing and salsa to the tango and waltz. Antonio was great to work with, and I love a guy who will wear a hat!

Check out the gorgeous Kathleen Plate, owner and designer of Smart Glass Jewelry here in Atlanta. Kathleen takes recycled bottles (coke cans, wine bottles, salad dressing, etc.) and turns them into amazing pieces of jewelry. She wore a ton of great pieces to go with our MyStyle shoot. Take a look at her stuff: http://www.smartglassjewelry.com/ I photographed her in a her beautiful home in Scottdale, which I’m told will be the new Decatur in a few years!

GREENAWAY FAMILY

Last week I spent a couple of hours with the Greenaway family at Piedmont Park, photographing their adorable kids. Anytime you are photographing a nearly two-year-old and his four-year-old brother, you have to move very fast! Kids have a very short attention span for photos, so instead I was really glad to catch them in action. It was a great day at the park!

Kieran has just learned how to make funny faces–and wanted to test a few out on me. This face is priceless!
