LAURA & CURTIS–LUTHERAN CHURCH REDEEMER & GEORGIA TECH WEDDING

Laura and Curtis had such a wonderful wedding at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Atlanta last Saturday. Laura was all smiles from the moment she walked into the church as her wonderful bridesmaids and mom helped her get ready. After they celebrated their vows in a lovely ceremony at this beautiful church on Peachtree St., the bridal party headed over to the Georgia Tech campus. Since both Laura and Curtis are completing their Ph.D’s at GA Tech, it was the perfect place to take photos. We had a great time taking advantage of the lovely grounds around Tech Tower before heading over to the ballroom to start the reception.  Curtis and Laura really have such a natural love and affection for one another and it came through in every photo that I took of them–and it doesn’t hurt that they are two of the nicest people you could be around!

Thank you for letting me share in your wonderful day and I know your trip to New Zealand for your honeymoon later this year will be amazing!!lc-blog-24lc-blog-05lc-blog-02lc-blog-04lc-blog-03lc-blog-01lc-blog-08lc-blog-07lc-blog-06lc-blog-11The photo below is my absolute favorite…I mean wow!lc-blog-10lc-blog-15lc-blog-13lc-blog-16lc-blog-09lc-blog-22lc-blog-21lc-blog-20lc-blog-18lc-blog-19lc-blog-23lc-blog-17

KATELYN & MAX–BACKYARD WEDDING, DECATUR GA

When Katelyn first contacted me about her backyard wedding in Decatur, I knew that we would be a perfect fit. I love the intimacy and charm of a beautiful outdoor reception in one’s own backyard and this wedding did not disappoint! Katelyn and Max thought of every last detail for their home–which they lovingly renovated in the last few months leading up to their big day in May. When I arrived at their home after they celebrated their vows at Grace United Methodist Church in Atlanta, I could not believe me eyes–I felt like I had walked onto the cover of a Martha Stewart Wedding magazine! From the delectable pies, cakes and cookies with milk, to the beautiful table settings and flowers, there was not one thing out of place. Truly Katelyn, Max and their families worked so hard to make everything come together on that day–I love my DIY couples!

Katelyn and Max are two of the nicest people you could be lucky enough to photograph. They have such a wonderful easy going nature and obviously share this deep love and affection for one another. (It should also be said that you can’t take a bad photo of Katelyn–I mean wow! ) I was so glad they they decided for a ‘first look’ which gave us plenty of time to wander the grounds of the church (even if it was practically 90 degrees!)

Thank you both for letting me share in your absolutely lovely day! I know you will have a fantastic honeymoon–and will be glad for a much deserved break!km-blog-03km-blog-01km-blog-02km-blog-21km-blog-09km-blog-061km-blog-05km-blog-08km-blog-07km-blog-151km-blog-13km-blog-14km-blog-12km-blog-11km-blog-19km-blog-10km-blog-17km-blog-18akm-blog-20km-blog-23km-blog-28km-blog-22km-blog-27km-blog-25km-blog-26km-blog-24

PROVIDENCIA LOPEZ — STYLE

I photographed Providenica Lopez for a recent edition of the AJC’s My Style section. Providencia has a really fabulous and fun fashion sense ( I mean–check out the tutu!) which made photographing her in the Castleberry Hill neighborhood all the better. Not only does she have great style, but she was one of the most lovely and gracious subjects that I have had the pleasure of photographing! pl-blog-05pl-blog-01pl-blog-08pl-blog-03pl-blog-07pl-blog-06

KRISTI & JAMIE–WHITLOCK INN WEDDING

Kristi and Jamie, who celebrated their beautiful wedding last weekend at the historic Whitlock Inn in Marietta, have this absolutely wonderful and laid back style. They both were exuding such a sense of happiness and calm and the moment they saw each other for their “first look” was truly special. I’ve said it before, but I am so lucky to work with such fun, easy going and deliriously happy couples who want to celebrate their amazing day with everyone.

The Whitlock is a perfect spot for a wedding, because not only is the house so lovely, but it is right around the corner from Marietta Square–which is such a great place to shoot. Since Kristi and Jamie opted to see each other before the ceremony it gave us plenty of time to explore both areas. However my favorite place to shoot turned out to be the 1956 cherry red Mercedes convertible that they had for their getaway car. Wow–this car with the two of them in it was spectacular!!

Kristi and Jamie, thank you for letting me be a part of your wonderful celebration!

ASHLEY & BOWEN–FORD FARM WEDDING

I knew from the moment I met with Ashley that not only was she going to have an amazing wedding at the Ford Farm in Lakeland, GA, but that she felt like an old friend. This gorgeous farm in south Georgia was just the perfect spot for an outdoor wedding. Ok, yes, they were calling for isolated thunderstorms–but those types of predictions never worry me. Of course as luck would have it, the moment that Ashley walked down the aisle with her mother, you could hear the grumblings of thunder claps and see bolts of lightning shooting across the sky. Then as large raindrops came falling,  not a single guest left their seats until Ashley and Bowen were pronounced husband and wife. (Then everyone ran like mad to get to the lodge).

And here finally is the reason that I am sure everyone who knows Ashley loves her–with thunder and lighting, hail and rain pouring down on her outdoor wedding–this lovely bride smiled and smiled and kept on smiling. Bowen and Ashley just laughed and decided that rain on a wedding day is good luck and this is what truly made Ashley such a beautiful bride. Thankfully they had opted for a ‘first look’ and so we were able to take advantage of the amazing scenery at the farm before the storm. When the rain did clear, the rest of the evening went ahead perfectly as planned. Everyone danced outside to  live music as the sun set behind the beautiful Spanish moss trees.

To Ashley, Bowen, their wonderful family and friends–it was a joy to be there and share in your beautiful and very memorable day! I have to say that  it was truly an honor to photograph two of the most loving, laid back and happy people I have had the pleasure to be with.  ab-blog-8ab-blog-7ab-blog-5ab-blog-6ab-blog-4ab-blog-3ab-blog-2ab-blog-10aab-blog-11ab-blog-9ab-blog-17ab-blog-13ab-blog-14ab-blog-16aab-blog-15ab-blog-18ab-blog-21ab-blog-20ab-blog-19ab-blog-1ab-blog-28ab-blog-27ab-blog-26ab-blog-25ab-blog-22ab-blog-24ab-blog-23
