KOREY & ROBERT — FLINT HILL WEDDING

Korey and Robert celebrated their gorgeous wedding recently at Flint Hill in Norcross and let me just say that these two know how to throw a party!  Everything about their day (despite the 100 degree weather) was full of so much laughter, joy and happiness. Korey is one of those people that you like the instant you meet her…she is so easy-going and has this incredibly warm and caring personality…and of course she is gorgeous to top it off! And Robert is one of those truly great guys who has clearly found a best friend and lasting love with Korey.  The look on Robert’s face seeing Korey for the first time during their “First Look” is all the evidence you need of  the kind of relationship they share together.

The reception was a blast with just about every single guest out on the dance floor the whole night. Every photo I have of Korey at the reception is with her laughing and grinning from ear to ear! And I also want to add that all the ladies there were wearing the most fabulous shoes I have seen gathered in one room! Korey and Robert, I am so glad that I could document your amazing wedding. It is always an honor to photograph such fun-loving and laid back people who exemplify such love for one another.

I absolutely love this shot of Korey below–stunning!!

Ok, had to put in one more shot of these fabulous Badgley Mischka heels!

Many thanks again to my second shooter Jennifer Boxley for this shot of Robert and all her great work that day.

I love the look on Korey’s face as Robert approaches her for the ‘First Look’—what a great moment!

How cute are these flower girls?!

I love Robert and Korey’s entrance into the reception at Flint Hill!

MAGGIE & ERIC–THE RIVER ROOM AUGUSTA WEDDING

I had so much fun at Maggie and Eric’s recent wedding held at the First Christian Church of Augusta and reception at The River Room. Every moment of their day was filled with huge smiles, laughter and so much love–not only from the two of them, but from all of their family and friends. You just have to look at Maggie and Eric to know that they share a deep love and admiration for one another. It shows up in every photo–the beautiful and beaming smile on Maggie’s face is all the evidence you need of that. They are just one of those couples that are so easy-going and fun that you just want to be around them.

I won’t lie, it was a very, very hot the Saturday in Augusta when they got married. The clock on the wall at the church read a balmy 96 degrees!  But since I am lucky enough to have the most awesome brides and grooms, these two let me take them all over downtown Augusta and its river walk. Yes, we were all quite warm, but you would never tell in the photos!! Maggie and Eric look so amazing and happy, and it was so great to photograph their ‘First Look’ before the ceremony.

There is one small story that needs to be told though and it involves a very special pin that Maggie had on her bouquet that had belonged to her father. At some point during the course of the afternoon, Maggie realized that the pin had fallen off. Everyone looked far and wide for this very important memento, but it appeared to be gone. While we carried on with the day, I know all of us felt terribly that it was missing. Fast forward three weeks later and I am cleaning up my closet at home in Atlanta. I notice something gold colored stuck on the bottom of the shoes I wore to Maggie’s wedding.  I bend down and there is that very pin!  I nearly flipped!! It seems that at some point it fell off the bouquet during the wedding, I stepped on it unbeknownst to me and had carried it all the way back to Atlanta. I just wanted to share the story of this tiny miracle, because it truly is the perfect happy ending to this wonderful wedding.

I love, love, love this shot of Maggie below! But then I love all the shots of Maggie with that gorgeous smile of hers!

Thanks so much to my awesome second shooter Jennifer Boxley for this great shot of Eric and for all the shots of the groomsmen!

This shot of Maggie & Eric below might just be my favorite from the whole day. But then again I love so many it is hard to pick!

Ok, I just had to put this shot in here. The poor ring-bearer was soooo not interested in having his photo taken….which I think is pretty clear from the look on his face!A very special anniversary dance below for Maggie’s grandparents.

I love this photo! I’m not sure exactly what Maggie is saying to Eric, but her expression sums it up pretty nicely.

KELLI & JEFF–FAMILY FARM WEDDING, HIRAM GA

I had so much fun photographing Kelli and Jeff’s wedding this past weekend out at their family farm in Hiram, GA. I loved everything about their intimate ceremony–from all the beautiful details to the gorgeous property with old barns and beautiful fields. I also loved the fact that the farm has a resident donkey–Lucky! Lucky tried to follow me around everywhere I went which was absolutely hysterical–they weren’t kidding when they said he liked people.

Kelli and Jeff decided to see each other before the ceremony–and it was a truly special moment seeing the look on Jeff’s face. After a beautiful ceremony in the backyard, we wandered around the property for more photos. It was early evening at that point and there was the most amazing light! As you can see, I’ve gone a little crazy posting portraits of the two of them–but I can’t help it–I just loved so many of the photos.

Most importantly though, Kelli and Jeff are two of the nicest, most easy going people out there. They have this beautiful, relaxed nature and when they look at each other you can just tell their incredible love for one another. I know I say it all the time, but I am truly lucky to photograph people as wonderful as these two. I had such a blast at this wedding and I am so thankful that Kelli and Jeff asked me to document their day!   kj-blog-03kj-blog-04kj-blog-02kj-blog-06kj-blog-05kj-blog-07kj-blog-09Kelli and Jeff seeing each other for the first time before the ceremony–love this moment!kj-blog-08kj-blog-23kj-blog-13kj-blog-15kj-blog-14kj-blog-12kj-blog-16kj-blog-18kj-blog-21kj-blog-19kj-blog-17kj-blog-20Yes–that is Lucky the donkey!!kj-blog-01Seriously–how cute are these kids?!kj-blog-10kj-blog-26kj-blog-25kj-blog-22

KATIE & WES–MONTALUCE WINERY WEDDING

Ok, the first thing that needs to be said is that Katie and Wes are awesome! It was literally a 100 degrees with the heat index last Saturday during their wedding at the Montaluce Winery in north Georgia–except you’d never know it in the photos. They just kept smiling and laughing the whole time! As I kept apologizing for taking them all over the winery in the crazy heat…they kept reminding me that they really cared about having good photos and that they were willing to be outside as long as we needed (love them!). So needless to say it is yet another reason why I love my laid back couples who give me the time to take photos that truly capture their day.

Montaluce is a gorgeous and picturesque location up in the mountains–and every detail came together so perfectly. Katie and Wes were surrounded by their close friends and family who shared in the beautiful celebration of their day. (It also must be said that Katie’s family loves to dance and they were awesome–even her grandpa was rocking on the dance floor!) Wes and Katie have this wonderful playfulness and love with one another and it made taking photos of them a blast.

Katie and Wes, thank you for letting me be a part of your gorgeous wedding. I hope the honeymoon was amazing (and a lot more temperate than Atlanta!).

KAREN & DANIEL–NEVERLAND FARM WEDDING

Ok, so I am little biased when it comes to my love of farm weddings–but I can’t help it! The absolute beauty of getting married outside in the mountains just can’t be beat. So when Karen emailed me about her wedding at Neverland Farms in N. Georgia, I knew it was going to be an amazing day. Not only is Karen gorgeous, but she truly is one of the kindest, sweetest and most laid back people that I have met. And so of course Daniel is her perfect match–incredibly kind, easy going and full of laughter.  I tell you he looked like the happiest guy in the world on their wedding day. When we rode around the property after the ceremony to take photos–it was just one of those perfect moments. You simply could not contain the joy and love they were feeling–they were grinning from ear to ear.

Karen and Daniel, it truly was a blast to be a part of your gorgeous day in the mountains. I know the wedding was a reflection of the people and things you care about the most and I am so glad that I was able to document it! kd-blog-02kd-blog-03kd-blog-05kd-blog-06kd-blog-07kd-blog-04Thanks so much to my second shooter Jennifer Boxley for capturing this image of Daniel along with the shots of the groomsmen!kd-blog-15kd-blog-12kd-blog-32Karen and her bridesmaids all went to college together in Texas–hence the cowboy boots.
